There might be a lot that human beings can do, but at the same time, there is little we do better than growing on a consistent basis. This progressive tendency on our part has already allowed us to hit upon some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a rather unique member of the group. The reason why technology’s credentials are so anomalous is down to its skill-set, which was unprecedented enough to realize all the possibilities for us that we couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we take up a closer look, it will quickly become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real-world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence and made it the ultimate centrepiece of every horizon. Having such an ingenious tool run the show unsurprisingly scaled up the human experience from every conceivable direction, but even after reaching so far ahead, the prodigious concept of technology will somehow continue moving towards greater heights. This has become more and more evident over the recent past, and assuming Tesla’s move ends up having the desired impact, it will nurture that growth even further in the near future.

Tesla has officially notified the relevant authorities about its plan to expand the famous Gigafactory Texas. In case you are not quite aware, Gigafactory Texas, which is located in Austin, started operations during April 2022. It currently stretches across more than 10 million square of space, a figure that makes it the world’s second largest building in terms of the volume by a pretty substantial margin. Talk about what this facility actually works on, it is tasked with the responsibility to manufacture Tesla Model Y vehicles. However, with its role in the supply chain set to become much more prominent, the factory will now also, notably enough; handle the production of Tesla’s long-awaited Cybertruck.

As per registration documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Tesla will dedicate an upwards of $770 million to realize the expansion bid in question. But where will it particularly invest the money? Well, a chunk of the money is expected go towards developing an enhanced battery testing lab that can support the creation of more effective battery-consumption solutions. Next up, Tesla will use some cash to erect infrastructure, which will specialize in manufacturing cathode and drive units. Wait, there is more. The Elon Musk-owned automotive giant also plans on setting up a die shop within the facility itself, and while it does so, it will set aside funds for a 693,093-square-foot division called Cell 1. However, the latter’s purpose remains undisclosed at the moment.

Tesla’s decision to expand an already huge Gigafactory Texas comes at quite a tricky time. Owing to unfulfilled production targets and continuous manufacturing delays; the company’s stock value has cratered by 71% since hitting an all-time high in November 2021. In case the situation wasn’t bad enough, Tesla is also facing severe scrutiny for its seemingly still unreliable self-driving tech, along with all the unwanted attention mainly generated by Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter.
