Scaling Up Visibility for a Safer Construction Operation

The human arsenal has seen, over the years, some really valuable elements, but at the same time, it hasn’t seen anything more significant than that tendency of ours to grow on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve, no matter the situation, has brought the world some huge milestones, with technology emerging as quite a major member of the group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, which guided us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for a second, it will become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component, in fact, did a lot to give the creation a spectrum-wide presence, and as a result, initiate a full-blown tech revolution. Of course, this revolution then went on to scale up the human experience through some outright unique avenues, but even after achieving such a feat so notable, technology will somehow continue to bring forth the right goods. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new discovery ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.

HCSS, a provider of software for heavy civil businesses, has officially confirmed the launch of its Fleet Dashcams that are designed to help construction companies in protecting their drivers when on the road. Named as HSCSS ADPlus Fleet Dashcam, the stated new product comes decked up with a plug-and-play framework, as well as a built-in Al processor to detect driving events like forward collision. Not just that, the dash camera can also leverage those AI capabilities to spot any improper driver behavior, such as using mobile phone usage, distracted driving, and more, for the purpose of handing out a timely warning. Talk about how this timeliness will look in practice, the idea is to raise the necessary alarm in real-time, and even after the system has duly completed that responsibility, it will further make a point to upload events to HCSS Telematics so that they can be reviewed by a fleet manager. Another possible use case is how we can apply these Dashcams to verify complaints from the public regarding a driver’s behavior, as they provide a concrete piece of proof to better back the companies in their fight against false claims.

Among other practical features, the ADPLUS Fleet Dashcam delivers at our disposal an ability to facilitate harsh driving detection, and it does so using a specialized six-axis g-sensor. Next up, there is a feature which can let you conduct simultaneous in-cab coaching, thus saving companies a good chunk of their time. Hold on, there is more. The dash camera, in case the whole value proposition is still not attractive for you, even offers a dual SD card storage, alongside an option to conduct dual-stream recording. Rounding off the highlights is the device’s pledge to provide an ultra-low power sleep mode (<0.1W)

“In 2022, four million harsh driving events were captured in HCSS Telematics,” said Phillip Robinson, telematics product manager at HCSS. “The new dashcam can protect drivers from potential litigation and help clear their names from any wrongdoing. The dashcams also help companies comply with insurance policies, potentially providing discounts on insurance premiums.”

Founded in 1986, HCSS or Heavy Construction Systems Specialists’ rise to prominence came on the back of its proprietary construction software, which can take care of everything from field entry, project management, and safety to digital plans, fleet management, telematics, and more. The company’s excellence in what it does can be inferred from the fact that it has, so far, served more than 3,500 companies ranging from $1M to billions in revenue. On top of it, HCSS has also been recognized as Best Place to Work for 14 times.
