There is no end to what human beings can do, and there is little we do better than growing on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve, no matter the situation, has already brought the world some huge milestones, with technology emerging as quite a major member of the group. The reason why we hold technology in such a high regard is, by and large, predicated upon its skill-set, which ushered us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, if we look beyond the surface for a second, it should become clear how the whole runner was also very much inspired from the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The same has turned more and more evident in recent times, and assuming one new construction-themed development ends up with the desired impact, it will only put that trend on a higher pedestal moving forward.
DeWalt, a proven leader of the construction technology space, has officially launched a brand new suite of construction technology, which is designed to support construction operations, automate workflows, and provide worksite safety. Made up from a variety of connected tools, software and mobile applications that incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), the stated suite will deliver real-time data and insights, simplify routine tasks, and facilitate collaboration through each phase of construction from design to fabrication shops, and on the jobsite. But what all is actually included in this suite? Well, for starters, it comes with a MSUITE Management Software, a cloud-based solution that will connect BIM, Fab, and field construction teams for a more seamless brand of offsite and modular construction. In practice, MSUITE will help contractors track, manage and share data throughout the entire life cycle of a construction project. Next up, we have the TOOL CONNECT Site Manager, which is another cloud-based solution to let contractors manage their tools and equipment from DEWALT and even other brands using just a smartphone or tablet. Furthermore, Tool Connect makes it a hassle-free experience to locate tools, check inventory levels, and monitor usage and performance, thus reducing downtime and ensuring loss prevention.

DEWALT delivers stronger interoperability among tools, consumables, advanced hardware, and software, for successful collaboration across construction workflows.”
Moving on, DeWalt’s latest brainchild also boasts the company’s industry-leading sensory technology. The line-up of sensors is going to include curing milestone alerts, materials performance analytics, AI predictions and BIM integration. Anyway, this technology, in order to produce maximum value, will be jointly-presented by DeWalt and Converge, a concrete material and operations optimization company. Equipped with Converge’s AI-based platform, ConcreteDNA, the setup will allow easy measurement of aspects like hardening to reduce construction defects prevalence and the subsequent need for repairs. Beyond that, DeWalt’s new product can even tailor the amount of cement to use in the concrete mixture, and it can do so based on insights sent from the sensory setup. Interestingly, having this knowhow to use just the right amount of cement should also go a long way in reducing carbon emissions.
